About Lions International

Lions Clubs International is the largest service clubs organisation in the world. There are over 1.5 million Lions in about 42,000 Lions Clubs in some 200 countries. In 1999-2000, the Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF) gave some US$41 million in grants to worthy causes around the world.

The first Lions Clubs in Britain were established some 50 years ago. There are now around 1,000 Lions clubs in Britain and they work closely with many other service organizations, some possibly better known to you than ourselves!

This year, 2001, has been designated by the United Nations as the International Year of Volunteers. This has led the six leading service organizations of Great Britain to work together as Volunteers in Action. The members of Volunteers in Action are:

  • National Association of Round Tables
  • Association of Inner Wheels
  • Soroptimist International of Great Britain & Ireland

About Bromley Lions Club

Bromley Lions Club was formed in 1986. Most of its activities over the years - and currently - are focused on working in, and giving support to worthy causes centred in, the London Borough of Bromley. As you can see, however, our credentials are excellent! We are a small but highly active local club and, at the same time part of a national and international service organization.

We make donations totalling between £10,000 - £15,000 each year depending upon how successful our activities are! So, Bromley Lions Club can give you the means to be associated with a highly respected international organization while enabling to make a donation that will count in your local community.
